It is approximately 22 meters wide and 18 meters tall. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Furthermore, its dazzling whiteness is due to the use of white stones from <\/span><b>La Turbie<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, a local material sourced from the hilltop village just above Monaco.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fa135d3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"fa135d3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Mosaics  <\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b12e7b4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b12e7b4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are indeed many remarkable mosaics inside the cathedral! Two of them caught our attention. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The contemporary mosaic dedicated to <\/span><b>Saint Nicholas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, created by artist Larissa Perekrestova, a mosaic artist of Ukrainian origin who lives in Provence. This work was a gift from the Republic of Ukraine to the Principality of Monaco. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another important mosaic features the Virgin Mary, <\/span><b>Immaculate Conception<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the cathedral\u2019s patron saint. She points out that the building, although sometimes called \u201cSt. Nicholas Cathedral,\u201d is officially dedicated to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception.
